EQUIPMENT Canoe We use Linder’s aluminium canoe 525 (cm), weighing 38 kg and approved to carry 3 persons and a total weight of 400 kg. An aluminium canoe is sturdy, but never walk or sit in the canoe when not in the water.
Life jacket A life jacket must always be worn when canoeing. It is your most important piece of safety equipment!
Paddles With one end on the ground, the paddle should reach somewhere between your chin and nose. We recommend that the tallest person sit in the rear of the canoe.
Canoe cart The canoe cart is used for land transportation between waterways. Place the cart under the middle of the canoe to achieve balance. Fasten the canoe with both straps. The cart does not float and MUST be fastened to the canoe!
Packing barrel The packing barrel is waterproof and carries 60 litres. In it you keep your most valuable equipment during the trip.
Rope The two enclosed ropes are primarily used to secure the baggage in the canoe. The baggage should be able to fall out of the canoe, and still be floating attached by the rope.
Spade The spade is primarily meant for toilet use. Dig a 10-15 cm hole which you afterwards cover properly.
Trash bag Use the trash bag for all your litter during the trip. The garbage cans found along the route are usually private and may NOT be used unless it is specified that they are public. Bring back the trash bag to Sanvikengården!
